Ok, so I'm glad things are going well with Carly and Tom....

Let's see if I can respond to everything quickly....

Dawn Waser- she's been to a church activity and really liked it- loves
the church and that it's family oriented. But she doesn't feel like
she's capable of living up to the standards- but that's part of the
reason why I wanted her address so I can write her and maybe when I get home
she'll be baptized.

I got the package- thank you!

I'm not sure yet if I'll survive childbirth- I still don't like
needles- but I've gotten better- I don't know if that says much....

Favorite hamburger- Wendys. I like cheeseburgers best.

Ashley did write once.... she was rooming with some people from TO.
Brighton Heartford and some other girl- but now they're all back up
there and I'll write them. Natalie still writes Mark, and he needs letters
more than I do, so that's good. Andrew is up in Utah- so Ash is
probably busy- hopefully engaged by now. As for LB- probably dating? I
don't know. Pete thought he saw them on campus the other day but didn't
want to walk up to someone and just say hi- isn't that what he did his
whole mission? I teased him about that.

Ok, so I do get to wear my flip flops occasionally- not too often. I
don't know if I can get into Hawaii- but we'll see. I wouldn't right
when I got back.

SIster Jensen is a lot of fun. If I had known her before I could see
us being friends. She's a lot of fun and likes to do things. She's
really outgoing and weird and random just like me.

We found this girl- Shatasha and she loves us- she says we make her
laugh. She's committed for Oct 14th- so that's cool. Sister Jensen and I
have high goals for ourselves- we don't know if we'll make them yet but
we have faith that we can. Whichever companionship gets the most
baptisms gets to have dinner with the President- so we're aiming for that.
Last transfer it was 9 baptisms- so we're shooting for 15. We have a
few families that we need to prepare for with the Spirit and if they all
progress I don't think we'll have too many problems.

Mia is still awesome- we went over there the other day and there was a
non-member there and Mia taught her about the Holy Ghost and as much as
she could and bore her testimony about the Book of Mormon. Anyways,
things are going well here.

There's also the Gonzalez family. Cindy and Gabriel and their kids.
Cindy doesn't like the politics in the Catholic church and hasn't been
back since spring. She knows there are things missing from her church
and she'll come around.

Then there's Roxanne- she's awesome. The Elders ran into her in New
Orleans and we're now teaching her- we'll be seeing her later today. I
think she'll be baptized too.

Let's see.... Sister Jensen's birthday was on friday and we ordered
pizza- that was fun. And then the ward members have been giving us food
and helping out. THey like us sisters better than the Elders.
hahaha..... anyways, I think that's about it.

Love yall!!!

Sister Jamie Lang

Actually, I think Tom and Carly do fine a week at a time and then
Grandma doesn't have to keep track on a daily basis. Without having the
nightly arguments between Danny we've been able to get to bed by 10:00
mainly. Carly's struggles a little, but it's a good thing and it's
good money.

Oh, you'll get a package...it has the gal from Nevers, Palazzo ...???
address in it and Jakes' and other stuff. Anyways, I talked quite a
while with her and was a good missionary...you would have been proud.
We talked about you of course and how wonderful you are and wonderful
you're doing and how wonderful the mission is. and then we got into a
conversation...I guess she was raised Jewish, but never really grasped
onto it. She was always drawn towards Christianity. so I testified
to her of what a "wonderful" person she was, and that the book of
mormon talks about people like her (jewish), that would find that way, and
that they are the promised people....and other stuff until she had to
go, but maybe atleast I sparked an interest.

Dreams...I have weird ones, but I guess I do all the time. Oh my
gosh, Jamie...you're turning into me!!!! OHHHH NO!!!!!! ( you'll
probably have 8 kids once you realize you'll survive childbirth)!!
Sometimes in my sleep I think you're home, or I'm your companion on a
mission...okay, weird, but we love you!!! we've always known you were
"special"...

The mormon club I didn't know if it ever got really started, but I
don't hear of anything, and this is a fun thing. I was actually proud
of Carly for taking Katie and Julie at the last minute and then all of
them had such a fun time...Cassie and I felt bad (sometimes it's not
good to be a workaholic, but I'm trying to get things done).

Oh, I have update the blog, but somehow it's posted wrong, but it is
there. I'm having dad ask his seminary kids if anyone blogs so I can
correct it. I'm not crazy that everyone can contact it, but it's
harmless and as long as we don't give out personal information...(I just
don't want someone to hunt you down in LA...just kidding). Anyways, I
hope that makes you feel happy. It makes me sad to think you had to
get Ashley's, LB's and Natalie's address from the guys. Why can't they
write...atleast a little? They aren't bad people Jamie, but they are
into themselves!!!

(The same thing with Carly and Chelsea Brown, Natasha Turville,
Laurel Nagy. Carly made friends with them at girls camp when they were
12. We planned a few things. Now that they are older, they think to
invite Tom and Johnny to all these things ...because they're boys....but
not once do they think to call Carly. Now Carly doesn't even
care...and they aren't bad girls, just into themselves...it's a sad world.)

That's what's wonderful about a mission. It's not about you. It's
about others. You Are Wonderful!

Yes, Julie still makes lists of everything. I'll have to send you
one. Or I'll ask her to make a list for you!!!

I know you had to drop Bernice. Can a member invite her or does she
need to exercise her faith! You can lead a horse to water, but you
can't make them drink!

Of course, a porch!!! and for my Ma'am!!! Sister Jamie Lang!!! Are
there a lot of porches there.

As far as Hawaii...could you get in??? (you never finished Biology,
so there's another F). Anyways, maybe that's the way to go! Just
think of the harmony!!!
Life is exciting when you learn to trust the Lord!

So do you get to wear your flip flops much? I'm glad you are active
on p-days and had a good time at the zone conference. It does look
like the weather has mellowed and no hurricanes!

Tell me more about Sister Jensen. so it sounds like things are going
well!

Love ya,

Mom

Jamie Lang wrote: Ok... so you said
Carly was hit really hard by the Gibb's father.... in a car?
So Carly and Thomas rotate weeks? Is that hard? Like one week with
interrupted sleep? I'm glad they're able to help. I haven't been
sleeping great recently- I wake up all the time because of weird dreams....
like in one I was "at home" which meant you, Julie and Katie lived with
me here in Ponchatoula and I don't remember much but I would go out
proselyting during the day.... it was weird and I don't remember it all.
I had one dream once where I had come home and been released and on
the way home we stopped to get gas and ran into someone. They asked how
my mission was and I started telling them all about Alexandria and
Ponchatoula and then freaked out- I was like "Mom I came home early- I
don't remember anything after Ponchatoula..." You started saying I had
served in all these other areas I've never heard of... I woke up and
started laughing.... Anyways it's fun sometimes. So has Carly been on
any dates yet?

I'm glad Cassie's liking it. Do they still have that one Mormon club
that the boys started? Or did that die out?

Katie... yeah peer pressure and fitting in. I don't know that I ever
necessarily felt like I "fit in" but I liked my friends- and that's
what counts. Sam Beal ended up making new friends at one point cause she
didn't want to "fit in". Katie will do fine.

So Julie has Danny's room? Does she make herself lists of things to
do?

We haven't had our primary program yet, but I don't think we'll be
inviting Bernice- we dropped her last week.... :( But we ALWAYS invite
people to church.

So you're building a porch? So I'll feel like I've come home to the
South? jk... That'll be cool- we had talked about that before didn't we?

Yeah, it's snowing really early this year I guess. Our Bishop's
daughter is at BYU and so it's been snowing there for a few weeks... I
forget when he said it snowed- weird. I definitely want to go to Hawaii. If
I can't get into the music program at Provo, mebbe I'll go there, I've
been told you don't have to try out.

I LOVE my flip flops- I wear em every chance I get. Last week we had a
water fight- I didn't have anything- so basically I got REALLY wet! I
tried drying off once... didn't work. Then me and Sister Jeppson
decided to lie out and "tan". Actually we just wanted to be dry and it was
getting colder. Then one of the elders decided he wanted to get me wet
again, so I ran- really fast actually- he gave up- YES. Anyways, that
was fun.

I was feeling a little down- not too bad. Sister Goertzen was getting
discouraged because most of the people she's seen baptized have gone
inactive and she started not seeing much of a point anymore. But I'm
fine. I really do LOVE Sister Jensen- she's awesome! And really excited
for everything! We're doing great and cleaning our apt....

Love yall!

Sister Jamie Lang!
