So I'm not getting transferred! I stay here. My new companion is
going to be a Sister Benham. My district is staying the same but we're
getting new Zone Leaders. I don't have much time. Today is Zone
Preperation Day and so we're meeting at the church in 15 minutes.... But it's
ok... I don't have much to report on per se. I talked to yall on
Sunday.
Paul is awesome! We took him out with us Sunday afternoon with us
after I talked with ya. We told him he should make Sundays missionary
days. So when he heard I was staying he was like, "So how many people are
we saving this time around?" Awesome! We put pass along cards all
over his car at work the other day- his boss asked who vandalized his car
and he just laughed. He's going to be awesome tho.... We took him
with us to see Joyce.... She's an investigator that's been having a
really hard time. She's been committed for baptism the past few weeks but
needs to make it to church. She had been living with her mom, an
inactive member, but technically she's not supposed to. Joyce has had a
really hard time. She's in her 50s? She has grandchildren. Her house
isn't really much of a house. She evacuated it for the hurricane and went
to Texas. When she came back people had moved in and stolen most
everything. Her roof is pretty torn up and she didn't have a door when she
came back. She pretty much was left with torn up couches, a bathtub,
toilet, and a stove that's been torn apart. That's it. So she's now
living back at home, but she has lupus, and diabetes, and arthritis, and
she recently had an eye infection, and gum infection, and all of her
medicine is at her mom's. But she doesn't have energy to get there and
pick it up and her mom doesn't have a car either. Joyce's son is in
jail.... what we've heard about that was that he is in for murder I think
in the first degree- supposedly he was sleeping in the car and the
people he was with did something.... but either way... that's hard on her
too. And her mom wanted her to get some money to pay for a lawyer, but
she doesn't have the money and the only way she can get it is by going
to the streets... selling drugs I think and she said she won't do
that. She says her boy gets a meal everyday. He knows the scriptures,
he'll be fine. God will help him. She has no food except for the chips
we left her. That's pretty much the only thing she's eaten for 6 days.
But when Paul came with us- he doesn't have that much but he had some
glasses that she can use, she was so excited to be able to read the
scriptures. She needs to quit smoking now and then she's pretty much set
for baptism and then she'll have the Holy Ghost to comfort her. Ok....
well that's about all I have time for. But love ya'll! I'll talk to
you next week.... NO e-mail for Memorial Day I can't check it. I'm
still at the same address.
Love ya!
Bye
Sister Jamie Lang
