Hey Dad!

So sounds like you had an interesting weekend as far as church is
concerned..... giving a talk and teaching....  I'm glad Katie's
surprise
went well.....  Seems like we're getting better at those..... starting
with Carly's at the beach house, way back when.....

I remember meeting Elder Rasmussen, but have no idea who he is
anymore.... just the name....  I think I am getting the hang of
things....

Things are a little slower here in Ponchatoula....  it's a really small
town.  It's not that poor which sometimes makes it hard, for contacts
and for teaching people, they just don't always seem as ready to
listen.
But we have also run into people from Katrina here.  This one lady,
Sharon Smith....  she's interesting and I don't know if we'll be able
to
progress her towards baptism- she seems pretty stubborn about never
setting foot in a church or church parking lot.  but her boys want to
come with us one of these weeks.  She believes in some 1914?  theory,
and that Jesus' Second Coming happened then.....  But she was in the
Super Dome when Katrina happened and saw people dying and killing
themselves and a whole bunch of devastation.  Well, before I go too
much
into our week I'll finish responding to your e-mail and then in the
family e-mail I'll finish writing everything that happened.

Yes, the weather is VERY pleasant.....  haha.  But I like it better
than
the cold- most of the time.

As for the alligator it is a real one but he is in a cage- a mini swamp
area, so no petting him.  Norma had said that Mom was sticking to her
diet- Good for her!  Now I'll need to see some pictures! 

I do have my credit card.  I'm trying to budget, so hopefully I won't
have to use my home accounts much.  But we help people start a Stop
Smoking Workshop and that can add up- especially since the store here
in
town isn't cheap....  But at Walmart it's usually ok....

Well, that's all for now, I'll write more in my e-mail....
