July 24, 2006

Alright, so let's see.... this week.... we had interviews with
President Patterson.... He says I'm doing good. I guess we're having fun.
Jasmiene made us cookies the other day- it was her first time making
cookies. Unfortunately, her gma, Bernice isn't progressing and we might
have to drop her. She doesn't seem to be willing to let go of the
cigarettes or come to church. She says she still wants to be baptized and I
know she knows it's true, but I don't think there's much else we can do
for her right now. I don't know what else to really report on this
week. We're doing a lot of finding, but that doesn't always mean second
appointments....

We went over to the Garlands' house this week... we're supposed to go
and visit different families in the ward and then ask for referrals and
get to know them so we can actually work with them. Brother Garland
has family up here that aren't members.... They love the missionaries
but I don't know if they are ready to progress. But we had dinner with
the whole family last night. It was really good. It was spaghetti with
meat in it and garlic bread and a green bean casserole and salad and
home made lemonade and ice cream..... it was really good. So, I still
avoid chicken..... Sister Goertzen says I should just say I'm allergic
to bird meat... even tho I'm not always fond of the other things.... I
did have a hamburger the other day from McDonalds.... Some
cheeseburger.... I don't know if I'm ready to try it without the cheese yet....
but it's still a step. Other than that... let's see.... we got to sing
in the ward choir yesterday... and I sang a descant part that I learned
in the MTC. Our Mission President came and spoke in our Sacrament
Meeting and so did Sister Patterson and an Elder Noe Baham.... he's leaving
this week for the MTC and headed for LA. But it was good.....

Well, I don't know what else to really talk about... I don't know that
anything really cool happened this week... but we're working and so
something should happen soon.

This morning I just got the package and so started trying to read
everything... .wasn't able to but I brought some of the letters with me.....
Thanks. "The Garden" isn't allowed. Mainly just hymns and stuff sung
in General Conference. "The Olive Tree" is the only exception that I
know of that I don't have a copy of..... I really like these two
songs.... I recorded them on tape.... I'll send them soon, I forgot about
it when I was sending other things home.

Something new..... so I started composing a song..... or arranging
one. That's a first, I've never been able to before. I drew some sheet
music but it might be nice to have some blank copies instead of what I
have..... I'll try and look at Walmart but I don't think they'll have
it. So if Dave has some, maybe ask for one to make copies of and
whenever the printer starts working you can send it.... The pics from the
past.... It reminds me of why I grew out my bangs.... and why I wear
makeup..... and why I got contacts.... haha.... anyways, love y'all!

Love,
Sister Jamie Lang!
