I don't know. i think if you happen to get online at the same time.
But I don't know when I'll be on. We don't have a set schedule.....
My biggest struggle.... I don't know.... just going all day long
without stopping and changing my language. I say just and if a lot and I'm
not supposed to. But riding a bike.... we have a car but only a
certain amount of miles. So we rode our bikes the other day. That was
interesting. So I started riding and my skirt got caught in the brake thing
and stopped my bike for me. That was an adventure. Then.... well I
wear capris under my skirt. Later I fell.... I don't know how I wasnt
doing anything. But there I was and got all scraped up. That was
fun. But I'm good. Let's see another bike story... I think that's it so
far.
I hope grandma is doing better!
As for Katie's talk. I didn't know that Easter was a Norse goddess....
but we are Norse.... I think that's where Lang comes from. William
the Conqueror was Norse and we're related to him and in Old Norse Lang
means "tall one" but I've also learned that Lang means the same thing in
Swedish, German, and FInnish? So somewhere in that area, but we do
have Norse in us....
I didn't do the music in primary... I directed the music in Sacrament
meeting for Easter for the primary children.
Yes I was there for the "wake up Dad" General COnference talk....
That would be great I hope Jj goes up to Idaho. That would be fun!
I don't know that he would have more leadership opportunities in the
dorms.... I've had more since I've been out of the dorms, but I would
say the dorms are better the first year.
Other people that have written.... Norma... Beth Barrus. Grandma and
Grandpa Davis sent a card with "I know it's tough. WE love you!" But
I guess that takes time. I got a letter from Pete in the MTC. One
from Brandon. Hmmmm.... one from Mark before I left, and one from Ashley
Egglin.... I got one from Clint in the MTC. I think that's it though.
I wrote Christian Jensen in the MTC though and gave him my address in
the field so maybe soon.... Someone sent an anonymous Easter package.
Complete with an ice pack- that was useful. Oh, walking I got a minor
sprain- that's why the ice pack was useful. I made fried rice the
other day. We also were over at an investigator's home- Edna.... she's
starting to warm up. At first she didn't see the point in joining another
church and thought as long as she believed in Jesus she'd be fine. BUt
the other day she asked us with concern if the Pentecostal church was
true.... Anyways... she fed us. Some type of meat and some type of
vegetable I had never had before.
Then there's this guy Carlos, he should be baptized this week!!!! YAY!
We were talking with this one guy Paul and some others but they didn't
come to church.... so we'll see. Oh and I need some more cds por
favor.... And when you label them could you label them as Sister Lang.
Since they can't know my first name I've been telling them I have a
friend....
Alexandria- there's one nicer part of town.... but most of it is pretty
poor. We were in the nicer part of town on Easter- going Easter
caroling and inviting people to church.... One guy wasn't interested in
hearing our message but gave us cold applejuice to drink while we were out
walking. So the people are pretty nice to the sisters. Let's see....
We met this girl April who said that I looked familiar to her.... She
was surprised when I said I'd only been in Louisiana for a week and
she's never left the state. We invited her to church but she wasn't able
to come. I was really sad. But we have a return appointment with her.
Then there's this one family and I have a "leach". A little girl
Natanya who doesn't like to leave my side. Anyways.....
then my first week here we tracted out in Tioga area.... we met this
lady who when we told her families could be together forever started
crying. She said she didn't have much time but her mom is in the hospital
and doesn't have much longer to live. We stopped by her house again on
Saturday I think.... she started crying and said her angels were back.
They were getting ready to head out of town and spend Easter with her
mom. But she found out more about the church and she had ordered a Book
of Mormon and she says she's reading it with a few other books. She
gave us some cold drinks and chips.... That was nice. I hope things
work out for her. We'll have to stop by again. We were teaching this
guy, Donald..... He had wanted to get baptized really bad but then we went
and taught him the other day and he hasn't changed. He had just
finished smoking weed and couldn't follow us and no longer showed any desire
of changing..... We haven't seen him since. But oh well, I guess.
Then there's this guy Jose.... he's working on getting his act together-
he wants to get baptized but isn't quite ready. He's been with his
girlfriend for 12 years and when he brought up marriage she thought the
only reason he wanted to get married was so he could join the church, so
things didn't go over too well. I'm not too fond of tracting, but I'm
getting better...... I think that's all I can remember at the
moment.... So I hope everything is well at home and that you all had a
WONDERFUL EASTER! Oh I went to the zoo this morning and I just finished a
memory card, but I can print them out here at Walmart.... I may send them
home, I haven't decided yet..... Well, love you all!!!!

Love
Sister Jamie Lang
