So I can e-mail! YAY! So everything is going well so far. Thank you
for the heart attack! I got it the night I stayed in the mission home!
So I'm now up in Alexandria. We are taking over a new area- two areas
combined so it's pretty big. I tracted my first street the other day-
Dillard Street I think. Sister Henderson is really cool. She's from
Northern California and so that's fun. She said she saw my name and
where I was from and wanted to be my companion cause I was from CA.
She'll be leaving in less than 6 weeks now though. So I have to learn as
much as I can now. We have a lot of stuff to memorize so that's coming
along. Hmmmm let's see. Last week we committed 5 people with a
baptismal date, but then none of them came to church the other day. But this
guy, Jose came, he needs to marry his girlfriend. he wants to but when
he brought it up she got mad and said he only wanted to marry her so he
could get baptized not because he loves her.... but we're going to go
see him this week. Then another guy Donald, he may be able to get
baptized this week, he didn't answer the door, supposedly though he is used
to having people bang on the door, he doesn't hear very well, and
someone new was picking him up for church. Oh that's another thing. The
ward here is small and most of the members don't seem to have cars, so
they all carpool already and it's hard to find rides for
investigators.... So I guess we need to find people with cars and convert them. There
were two ladies who said they know Andrew, one of which is going down
to New Orleans this weekend for Easter, I told her that if she saw him
to tell him hi for me. And the Primary music people are gone next week,
so I'm directing whoever is there next week for when they sing a song-
one that I don't think I've ever sung before.... I thought that was
weird. There are 3sets of missionaries in our ward, so we see our
District Leader and our Zone leader at church with us.

We ran into a Pentecostal guy the other day..... I was so glad my
companion was with me.... I was having trouble even following him he spoke
so fast, but I think he was trying to prove to us that we were wrong.
I almost felt like saying, "Excuse me, if you want to convert us,
you're going to have to speak a little slower so I can understand what
you're saying." But I didn't, but I thought about what he said and came up
with something to say next time.
Let's see... lots of people are very nice but not interested.... We
have done Walmart tracting/contacting twice cause we had to make up for
lost time. The Mission standard is to contact 280 people a week and
when we got in Wednesday night we had 250 to do and the first two days we
got lost a lot. Then on Saturday most of our day was spent driving to
Baton Rouge for Golden Trainer back at the mission home. So we had to
make up for a lot of time. But yeah.... I have a lot of habits to
break.... I think the funniest mistake I've made so far was this: Some
guy said he was Roman Catholic and so I said, "Yeah, so anyways.... I
know God is our loving Heavenly Father and has called a prophet to the
Earth once more, can we come in and share our message?"

My companion laughed at me and said it's going in her book.... Let's
see what else... I'm still adjusting to the new schedule.... We don't
eat at people's homes. The only time when we're allowed to eat at
someone's home is if there is a non-member present and we have a teaching
opportunity.

I hope I haven't forgotten anything.....

Oh, I hope you start updating the blogspot.... And see if Scotti wants
these e-mails forwarded.... his e-mail is scottmcintyre@myldsmail.net
and then LB's is macbeth_609@yahoo.com. Anna's is
blondegurl1313@yahoo.com.... I think those are going to be the people
that would actually check that I have the e-mail addresses memorized
for... Just let them know I can't respond back... except through
letters.... Well I think that's all for now. More next week!
